Undiluted Hocus-Pocus is a writing space for me to try out new ideas. Photos are mostly my own. I’ll try to post at least once a week about thoughts, history, life. I’ll never completely get away from true crime. Welcome and enjoy. Opinions are necessary, please comment. The wonder of problems, puzzles and sometimes murder!

I’m John Allore, and I’ve been writing about crime since 2002. My website, Who Killed Theresa is one of the first crime blogs on the internet, which began as an investigation into the unsolved murder of my sister, Theresa Allore.

I went to Trinity College, the University of Toronto, and I have a Masters in Public Administration with a specialization in Justice Administration from North Carolina State University.

In 2017, I started the podcast, Who Killed Theresa, which focuses on unsolved murders in Quebec, as well as other issues of criminal and social justice. In 2018, I was given a medal, the Senate of Canada’s Sesquicentennial award for my work in victims advocacy.

I live in the United States, though I spend significant time in Quebec. My first book, Wish You Were Here -A Murdered Girl, a Brother's Quest and the Hunt for a Serial Killer, co-authored with Patricia Pearson, was published in Canada by Penguin Random House in September 2020.  It will be published in the United States in the spring of 2022. I’m currently writing a second book, working title = That Case Is Not Here.
